D'ArS ensemble

"D'ArS Ensemble" consists of two sound creators with an extensive and consolidated trajectory in the field of experimentation and research.

Josep Lluís Galiana (saxophones)

Gregorio Jiménez (electroacoustic, video and keyboards)

Founders of other sound creation groups of international standing, "Bòlit Jazz Group", "Sound Toolers EMB" and "SET.UP.SO", these two Valencian musicians have participated in important national and international festivals: The International Festival of Benicásim (FIB); The Ensems International Festival of Contemporary Music; The International Festival of Contemporary Music of Alicante; The International Festival of Granada; L'Observatori of Valencia; Nits d'Aielo i Arts, The Festival of El Ejido (Almería); Ciber@rt; Aula d'Altres Músiques, The Punto de Encuentro Festival organised by the Spanish Electro-Acoustic Association (AMEE), Primavera en La Habana (Cuba), Cycle of Electro-Acoustic Creation at the Ionian University of Corfu (Greece); Festival Audio Art in Krakow (Poland), Festival NWEAMO in San Diego (USA), Festival Synthese in Bourges (France), etc.

"D'ArS Ensemble", always searching for new sound fusions, works with electronics in real time in combination with acoustic instruments. The result is a music that is, to a great degree, random, unique and very daring, where improvisation and interactivity with the listener play a fundamental role. Aesthetically, the sound creations of the "D'Ars Ensemble" have various sources, gathering diverse influences from contemporary music: from electro-acoustics to jazz; from noisism to ethnic music; from minimalism to free improvisation...
